This structure was build on Bou-Sellam river. The purpose of the project was to supply sufficient quantities of drinking and irrigation water for town of Setif and surrounding area of 100 km2 , up to year 2004. The intake tower and open reinforced concrete spillway were constructed beside the earth fill dam.
