The purpose of this project was to supply city of Tunis with water. The dam was constructed on river Kasseb, tributary of the biggest Tunisian river - Medjerda, about 120 km far from the city. It is arch type concrete dam. Spillway was constructed in axis of the dam with discharge capacity of 960 m3/sec.
