MRATINJE

This 220 m high concrete arch dam was constructed in river Piva gorge in Montenegro. All power plant structures - supply pipelines, machine house, outlet tunnel, substation and switchyard are underground and located on the left side, close to the dam.  Hard and inaccessible terrain conditions required highly efficient organization of work.  Special problem was with transportation of cement, since it was necessary to use marine, railway and road transportation with haulage distance of about 600 km.
